List of patches Heredis 2023

Following the release, Heredis is in your hands. Thousands of genealogists are discovering the latest version. This is why we release an update a few weeks after the initial launch of a new application.

The purpose of this update is to fix any issues that could not be detected during our beta testing phases. This is the list of the improvements  for the 2023 version.

Patch n°5

Mac (25/07/2023)

• Added export and import of files in hmwz format. Common file format to facilitate exchanges between all Heredis platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

Patch n° 4

Mac (01/03/2023)

• Search Tracking: some generations could not unfold
• GEDCOM/Heredis export and Smart Search in ascendants: ancestry calculation was not working and was blocking Heredis

Windows (25/07/2023)

• Added export and import of files in hmwz format. Common file format to facilitate exchanges between all Heredis platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

Patch #3

Mac (20/02/2023)

• Import GEDCOM: impossible to import GEDCOM from Reunion or with @ at the beginning of the note or lines without tags
• Merging of persons: loss of persons and union notes entered with an older version
• Crash when opening a file according to certain themes
• Wheels: the display before printing did not appear anymore after the Ventura update
• Problem of displaying the license activation for M1 and M2 processors, the license was validated but the computer did not appear in My installations of Heredis account.

Windows (02/2023 and 03/01/2023)

• Import GEDCOM: impossible to import GEDCOM from Reunion or with @ at the beginning of the note or lines without tags

Mac (09/01/2023)

• Problem adding cookies with the Ventura 13.1 OS update

Windows (02/20/2023)

• Editing a note or transcript of a source to indicate it as “Private”: switching to Private was not taken into account
• Opening an .hmwz file (Heredis file for Android or iOS): the file was deleted when cancelling the opening of an .hmwz
• Search Tracking: bug on the Notes icon, the note opened twice, the PDF export was blocked at 4 unfolded generations
• Usual Given Name & add event: the text entered in the event disappeared when the usual given name was changed
• Import GEDCOM: problem with access rights to the files
• Add witness: the list of persons did not appear
• If an image is too big, a message informs the user

Mac & Windows (09/11/2022)

• Bug when editing a book “Families from my village” with the “Tradition” model
• In Search tracking, column sorting unavailable
• Custom reports : crash when adding the field “Age on record” in an events custom report
• GEDCOM import optimized

iOS

• GEDCOM import optimized
• Ability to open hmwit, hmwz or compressed hmw files

Android

• GEDCOM import improved when the device is in sleep mode
• GEDCOM import optimized
• We have added an alert message when importing a file already present
