You can open a GEDCOM file from within Heredis Android.

To do this, send the file to your mobile device, by email or via the cloud.

  • Download the file to the mobile device’s internal storage.
  • Launch the Heredis application.
  • Press the menu button
  • If you don’t have a file open, press Open a GEDCOM file.

  • If you have a file already open, tap on the file name at the top of the colored banner. You will then see the home page menus. Then press Open a GEDCOM file.

  • Press Continue.
  • Select the downloaded .ged or .gdz file.

  • Give it a name and click OK to confirm.

  • Heredis will convert the file to Heredis Android format. Let the process run its course. Your file will open once the conversion is complete.
