Patch Heredis 2027

Following the release, Heredis is in your hands. Thousands of genealogists are discovering the latest version. This is why we release an update a few weeks after the initial launch of a new application.

The purpose of this update is to fix issues that could not be detected during our beta testing phases. This is the list of the improvements for the 2026 version.

Windows & macOS

• Improvement to the Reading Assistant: in the creation window, we have added the option to omit certain persons.
• Person entry: Age not calculated for an event occurring on the date of death.
• Media: For media whose original file is located in the Media folder, clicking the link to the original file did not work.
• FamilySearch: Issue with linking to a FamilySearch tree.

Windows

• Application start crash.
• Smart Search – Previous reports: Creating a list of events or records to search for triggered a “violation” alert.
• Place/Subdivision entry window: Error 403 – Access blocked.
• Person entry: The list could be cut horizontally.
• Sources Index: Index out of bounds.
• Entering data from a census: A blocking error message appeared when accessing this feature from Online Archives.
• Tooltips were missing from the Personal Facts tab and some other lists.
• Check the File: Added a place validation check to prevent a crash occurring after selecting a place created by the Reading Assistant.
• Surnames dictionary: In the “Replacing the Surname” window, sorting did not handle surname particles correctly.
• Diagnosing my family tree  > Consistency Control and Genealogical Controls: Window positions were not remembered.
• Hyperlink issue in notes.

macOS

• Charts: Private birth and death events were displayed even when the user had chosen not to show them.
• XXL Family: The background of the add spouse/child buttons was no longer rendered.
• Alternates Names: When creating a new alternate name with no fields filled in, the Add button is now disabled.
• Media Panel & Index: In List view, drag and drop from Finder did not work.

Android

• Updated to comply with the level of obfuscation required by the Play Store.
• Long press on an individual in the family nucleus: The screen displaying the individual’s relatives showed first names in uppercase, unlike the family nucleus.

iOS

• Increasing the font size in Settings made some screens difficult to read. We have limited the maximum font size to ensure that text remains legible.
