You know that Paul is the uncle of John, but you do not know if he is the paternal or maternal uncle, or the husband of an aunt. Create a personal link between the two indi\u00adviduals until the exact kinship may be determined.<\/li>\n<li>There are no events to link the two persons. You know that Jane was a friend of Maria. Create a personal link <em>Friend<\/em> between these two persons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Linked persons are displayed on the <strong>Personal Data<\/strong> tab. Click the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab to add, edit or delete them with\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1140\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-plus.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1141\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-moins.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> \u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1130\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>. When at least one per\u00adson is linked, a visual indicator (blue spot) is displayed on the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab. Enter the information you know about the person. Make sure the person doesn&#8217;t already exist in the matching persons list (in the list on the right). Select the possible duplicate and check out the summary. Click on <strong>Add<\/strong> or select the matching person and click on <strong>Choose<\/strong> if the person is already in your file. You may access the detailed data of that person later if you wish to expand on the information about the person.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Windows) Linking a Person<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2514 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/add_linked_person_pc_EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"795\" height=\"634\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>(Mac) Linking a Person<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2517 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/add_new_person_mac_EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"913\" height=\"651\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Linking a person<\/strong> window,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Precise the link by unrolling the <strong>Type of Link<\/strong> menu and select friend, heir, cousin, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Complete with a possible <strong>Comment<\/strong> of the link to indicate the nature or origin of the bond that unites these two people as for example &#8220;maternal side&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Check the wording of the link at the top of the window and, if necessary, reverse the terms of the link with the <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8826\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/16-remplacer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> \u2063button. The related person then appears in the <strong>Sundry Link<\/strong> tab in the <strong>Personal Data<\/strong> tab. Click the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab.<br \/>\n2. On the button bar at the bottom, click <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1140\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-plus.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>\u00a0(Add a link to the primary person).<br \/>\n3. The <strong>Linking a Person to\u2026<\/strong> screen opens. Enter the surname and given name in the <strong>Personal Data<\/strong> fields and select the individual from the list of <strong>Matching Persons<\/strong> to the right of the screen. Click the <strong>Choose<\/strong> button or double-click the name in the list.<br \/>\n4. Complete the information fields for the link and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>Drag and drop<\/h4>\n<p>1. Click the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab.<br \/>\n2. Take the person to be linked from one of the side panels (<strong>Persons, Bookmarks, Relations\u2026<\/strong>), and release on the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab.<br \/>\n3. Complete the information fields on the link and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Change a personal link<\/h3>\n<p>Every person in the genealogy file may be linked to one or more indi\u00adviduals by a personal link. Edit the information concerning the link.<\/p>\n<h4>Type of link<\/h4>\n<p>Choose the type of link between the two persons from the pop-up menu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Info<\/strong> \u2022 The position of the two persons may be meaningful (Mark is the heir of Peter therefore Peter is the testator of Mark), or non-dif\u00adferentiating (Maya and Brenda are friends).<\/p>\n<h4>Meaning of the link<\/h4>\n<p><em>(Windows) Meaning of the link<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2518 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/linked_person_pc_EN-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"571\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>(Mac) Meaning of the link<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1522 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/linked_person_mac_EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"911\" height=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check the link in the window title (Is Mark really said to be the heir of Peter, or the testator?).<br \/>\nTo change the link, click the <strong>Swap the link<\/strong> icon <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1077\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-remplacer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>.<\/p>\n<h3>Comment<\/h3>\n<p>Type a comment justifying the link between these two people.<br \/>\nOnce you have validated the entry or modification of the linked per\u00adson, the comment will appears in the list of linked persons.<br \/>\nThe appropriate type of link is specified in the\u00a0<strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab for each of the two persons and the comment of the link is identical.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Unlink a person<\/h3>\n<p>1. On the <strong>Personal Data<\/strong> tab, open the <strong>Sundry Links<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n<p>2. On the button bar at the bottom, click <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1141\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/16-moins.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>\u00a0(Unlink the selected person).<br \/>\n3.
