This is why we release an update a few weeks after the initial launch of a new application.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this update is to fix issues that could not be detected during our beta testing phases. This is the list of the improvements for the 2026 version.<\/p>\n<h3>Windows &amp; macOS<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improvement to the <\/span>Reading Assistant<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: in the creation window, we have added the option to omit certain persons.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Person entry: Age not calculated for an event occurring on the date of death.<\/li>\n<li>Media: For media whose original file is located in the Media folder, clicking the link to the original file did not work.<\/li>\n<li>FamilySearch: Issue with linking to a FamilySearch tree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Windows<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Application start crash.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smart Search \u2013 Previous reports: Creating a list of events or records to search for triggered a \u201cviolation\u201d alert.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place\/Subdivision entry window: Error 403 \u2013 Access blocked.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Person entry: The list could be cut horizontally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sources Index: Index out of bounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entering data from a census: A blocking error message appeared when accessing this feature from Online Archives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tooltips were missing from the Personal Facts tab and some other lists.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the File: Added a place validation check to prevent a crash occurring after selecting a place created by the Reading Assistant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Surnames dictionary: In the \u201cReplacing the Surname\u201d window, sorting did not handle surname particles correctly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diagnosing my family tree\u00a0 &gt; Consistency Control and Genealogical Controls: Window positions were not remembered.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hyperlink issue in notes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>macOS<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charts: Private birth and death events were displayed even when the user had chosen not to show them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XXL Family: The background of the add spouse\/child buttons was no longer rendered.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alternates Names: When creating a new alternate name with no fields filled in, the Add button is now disabled.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Media Panel &amp; Index: In List view, drag and drop from Finder did not work.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Android<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Updated to comply with the level of obfuscation required by the Play Store.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long press on an individual in the family nucleus: The screen displaying the individual&#8217;s relatives showed first names in uppercase, unlike the family nucleus.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>iOS<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increasing the font size in Settings made some screens difficult to read.
