Its process is similar to the Ancestors Wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Any change made in a person\u2019s data entry form will automatically be reflected in the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Access the wheel by clicking on the <strong>Graphs<\/strong> tab <strong>&gt; Descendants Wheel<\/strong> or from the button <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22625\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/145-roueDescendance.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"40\" height=\"40\" \/>you can add to the toolbar.<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55602\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/roue_desc_h26-en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"866\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/roue_desc_h26-en.jpg 1440w, https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/roue_desc_h26-en-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/roue_desc_h26-en-1024x616.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/roue_desc_h26-en-768x462.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>Navigate the Wheel<\/h3>\n<p>The same way you do it in the XXL Family window, you can zoom in and out by scrolling with your mouse wheel or using the <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8829\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/16-plus.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> and <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11953\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/16-moins-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> buttons in the upper left corner. Hold down the left click of your mouse to move the wheel around in the window.<\/p>\n<p>Click on the target <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12721\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/carte_enabled-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> button to re-center the wheel on the screen.<\/p>\n<p>Right-clicking with your mouse on a person&#8217;s box allows you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>View the person\u2019s Relations<\/li>\n<li>Define him\/her as the Primary Person<\/li>\n<li>Print the Person Sheet<\/li>\n<li>Define him\/her as the Root Person<\/li>\n<li>Add the person to the Bookmarks<\/li>\n<li>Highlight the branch from this person<\/li>\n<li>Show all occurrences in case of an implex (\u201cduplicate branches\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23546\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roue_desc_menu_contextuel_en.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"526\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To free up your screen, fold the Options palette by clicking the <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18076\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/croix.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"17\" height=\"17\" \/> button; unfold it using the burger <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18044\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ListeIcone.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"18\" \/> button.<\/p>\n<h3>Options<\/h3>\n<h4>Content options<\/h4>\n<h5><u>Spouses<\/u><\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23549\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roue_desc_epouse_en.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"239\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If the primary person had several spouses, select one of the spouses to display only the descendants from that spouse.<br \/>\nIf you select <strong>All spouses<\/strong>, then all descendants from the main person will be visible.<br \/>\nIf the person has children from none of his\/her spouses, a question mark will show the descendants born from an unknown parent.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Number of Generations<\/u><\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23555\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roue_desc_geneaation_en.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click on scroll-down menu to specify the number of generations to generate. Between 4 and 12 generations from the Primary Person.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Given Names<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>Choose the Given Names format you like best by clicking on the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All Given Names,<\/li>\n<li>First Given Name,<\/li>\n<li>Usual Given Name<\/li>\n<li>First Given Name and Initials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><u>Places<\/u><\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-51712\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roue_lieu_pc-en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"264\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Choose the format of the places shown in the boxes.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Dates in Gregorian format<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>We currently use the Gregorian calendar. Yet you may have already entered dates in another calendar format, such as the Republican calendar.<br \/>\nCheck the <strong>Use Gregorian Dates<\/strong> box to convert Republican dates to Gregorian format so your family gets a better understanding of the graph.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Duplicate branches (aka \u201cImplexes\u201d)<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>It was not uncommon for cousins to marry each other. The wheel helps you identify duplicate branches created by such marriages.<\/p>\n<p>Check the <strong>Duplicate branches<\/strong> box.<br \/>\nWords inside these boxes are then displayed in red.<\/p>\n<p>Right-click on a person in the duplicate branch and choose to display all occurrences in order to locate them among the various branches in the wheel. You will see the boxes for this person stand out and thus better locate its multiple appearances in the wheel.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Persons with no descendants<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>If you have ticked the &#8220;<strong>Persons with no descendants<\/strong>&#8221; box (see <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/flags-suggested-by-heredis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flags suggested by Heredis<\/a>) in personal data tab, you can display the end of the branch by ticking the box. Childless will then be written in a box to indicate the end of the branch.<\/p>\n<h5><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-51724\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roue_sans_desc_pc-en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"230\" height=\"326\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5><u>Confidential<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>Confidentials box allows you to choose whether or not to display persons declared confidential in the genealogy. If &#8220;Confidentials&#8221; is unchecked, confidential persons will appear with the word &#8220;Confidential&#8221; in their box (see <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/flags-suggested-by-heredis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flags suggested by Heredis<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h5><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-51727\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roue_confidentiel_pc-en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"147\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5><u>Flags<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>If you have set tags for the persons in your genealogy and you tick the box, the persons present will be marked with the flag(s) icon(s).<\/p>\n<h4>Display Options<\/h4>\n<h5><u>Shape<\/u><\/h5>\n<h4><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23552\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roue_desc_forme_en.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"185\" height=\"78\" \/><\/h4>\n<p>You can choose from a variety of shapes for your wheel. A full wheel or a fan wheel with various angles. Click on the shape that suits you best.<\/p>\n<h5><u>Filters<\/u><\/h5>\n<p>Depending on the filter selected, the wheel will display different colors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23558\" src=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roue_desc_filtres_en.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The various filters offer coloring by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Generation<\/strong>. Each generation will have its own color.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gender<\/strong>. Men and women will be highlighted in two different colors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Branch<\/strong>. Each child of the primary person and his descendants has a different color.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Family<\/strong>. If primary person has more than one spouse. You can change the character&#8217;s spouse in the spouse list filter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ahn. Number<\/strong>. Display clearly which persons of the wheel belong to the Ahnentafel line.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Person declared as Complete<\/strong>. This coloring option gives you an opportunity to visualize the persons whose conditions of completeness for major life events are met. See <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/heredis-preferences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heredis&#8217; Preferences &gt; Completeness of data<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marked Person<\/strong>. If you have marked persons based on one or more criteria, they can be assigned a different color than those unmarked. E.g., if you want to identify all persons born in the same city. See <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/flags-suggested-by-heredis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flags suggested by Heredis<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/?p=12511\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smart Search<\/a> for information on how to tag or \u201cmark\u201d persons.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Place<\/strong>: see <a href=\"https:\/\/help.heredis.com\/en\/?p=48469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Location wheels<\/a> article.<\/li>\n<li><strong>None<\/strong>. No wheel coloring at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can change the color gradient by clicking on the arrows and holding the left mouse click on the color strip and dragging it; or by holding the slider with the left mouse click and dragging it. Depending on the filter you choose, you will be offered several color sliders.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have reached the chosen color, you can release the mouse click.
