Importing a genealogy file in Heredis for Android
1. Preparing your genealogy for Android
Before you can copy your genealogy from the Heredis format onto an Android device, you need to prep the genealogy file.
Note: This method can be used for files not exceeding 4 GB. If your genealogy file is more than 4 GB, then choose to share on the local network.
From Windows or from your Mac:
• Launch Heredis
• Open your genealogy file
• Select from the File menu Prepare for > Heredis Android…
Heredis creates a compressed file recognizable by the Heredis for Android app.
• Click Yes to start creating the file. It will bear the same name as the original file with the .hmwz extension.
• Heredis opens Explorer if you are using Windows, Finder if you are on Mac, thus showing you where the compressed file is located so you can transfer it into Google Drive.
2. Copying a genealogy file prepared for Android into Google Drive
